Look for checked (cracked) ends, gray color, loose bark, and a hollow sound when two pieces knock together. Moisture meters don’t lie either — seasoned wood reads under 20%. Ours does.
Yes — that’s the point of buying seasoned. Store it off the ground and top-covered, sides open to the wind.
